Tress-Symphony

Musical, like the strings of guitar,
Tied-Untied, I look million stars.
My playful tresses dazzle the show,
Like...Madonna, Madhu Bala, Marilyn Monroe.

A bit of punk, a bit of jazz,
Humming melodies of rock-n-roll.
Untied - my hair sweep you off your feet,
Rhythm of it caress your soul.
Angel I look with golden halo,
Like...Madonna, Madhu Bala, Marilyn Monroe.

Tied - they play country folk,
My face transcends midnight moon.
Swaying in the lilt of my locks,
You sense monsoon in June.
I light up the mood with pristine glow,
Like...Madonna, Madhu Bala, Marilyn Monroe.

Tress symphony, ready to vibe,
With style I've an affair.
Everyday dazzling like a diva,
In my healthy groomed hair.
I live every moment, I grab every show,
Like...Madonna, Madhu Bala, Marilyn Monroe.

    1. When you said true to their on-screen flair, it made me wonder we don't know how they felt in real life. We made stories, celebrated them or shunned them. Glad you liked reading it, thanks.

  32. I like how a woman transforms herself into a different personality by just tying or untying her hair. We tend to look at them in a different way. That aspect has been brought out beautifully here. Those 3 eternal beauties being compared here, makes it all the more graceful. :)

    1. Actually, rather than picking a hairstyle, I said I look like a diva in tied-untied hair. In the last verse I said I look like a diva everyday. When they said, 'use your imagination,' I think I went overboard. :P

      And thanks for reading Afshan.

Being Human

Under the roof of winter, Latches of my door open without making a sound. It's cold out there, Someone lost his ground. My soul shivers, Not that I'm cold. Someone from my land, Sleeps under the bridge while dreaming of gold. How can I... tuck myself in the quilt? When the winter storm is blowing, Hopes they have built. I have to get up, Do something... Before I start questioning who am I? And, they start saying...'Humanity dies.' Let's work out something, Take a resolution. Walk across all kinds of bridges, And, just be human... From centuries people are migrating for work or for better opportunities. But, not everyone has a smooth sailing...some live under miserable conditions. Most heart wrenching fact is nobody helps them, not even people from their own countries. I know, everybody is busy chasing the bigger purpose of life. But don't you think we should help people in need? Let's try to be better human being...

I Am Not Alone

Last year blessed me, He walked silently into my life. It was Love, That took me in its stride. One evening we walked holding hands, Then, I told him what I felt in heart. He said we were one soul, Who were living in parts. To bring the parts together, We fought with the world and tied the knot. Being one soul, Gave life a whole new spot. Chirping birds, floating clouds, Nature conspired for us. Always swimming against the tide, Life was in an adrenaline rush. This year cursed me, He walked silently out of my life. It was Death, That took him in its stride.       Yesterday his soul was saying, Fearing memories will fade, he can’t move on. He will stay and admire me, Standing always by my side from dusk to dawn. Rewind - September 2023

I wrote the following in September. Sometimes, I feel I will forget the art of writing couplets because I am not writing at all this year. I strongly believe you have to practice to hone your craft. And I am not doing that. Perhaps I schedule a time to write a poem. Or I need better time management skills. Date Published 09/05/2023 मुझे उसके जाने का इतना अफ़सोस नहीं हुआ  जितना इस बात का कि इतने सालों तक उसे रहने ही क्यों दिया  Love, Saru
