Band, Baaja, Baggout

With wedding season around the corner and cricket season on the low side, two love birds thought of making the most of it. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli - shedding all their public inhibitions, announced that they will be marrying in September. Though most of their fans were gasping with anxiety, I for one , started dialing some friends who could help me bag them as my clients. You see, I am good at planning weddings and girl from my town -  Parineeti Chopra can vouch for it. She has attended many of my planned events and the result of it is quite evident on her body. She generously volunteered to fix a meeting with Anushka and Virat, where I was asked to show a presentation. With a lifetime chance to be in a limelight, I started planning the event that will be covered by the International media. With ideas flooding my mind and the thought of making extra moohals, all I was thinking was -   shayad, diwali ke season mein meri bhi chaandi ho jaaye! On the day of the meeting  -

As you trail through the valley,  Along with many cuckoos sing. Soul finds solace in its rhythm,  Striking many chords within. ~ Kashmir, Lyrical Landscape ~ * * * A wide canvas of blue you might think, Stretching its arm open wide for you. Punishing you with thunder and claps, Array of pink, orange, ocean blue. ~ Sky, Myriad Hues ~ * * *  Kiss the droplets on my body, It has never been kissed before. Hold me tight as you do it, Leaving it wanting for some more. ~ Body to Body ~ * * * Slender or plump, Wrapped or partially nude. I am what I am, I proudly wear my attitude. ~ Head Held High ~ * * * Sometimes, I feel you are in me,  Yet sometimes, all agog,  I run after you. Sometimes, you speak a million words,  Yet, I feel,  The unsaid is overdue. ~ Vagabond in Love ~ *These are opening verses of the poems I am unable to complete. Which one you like the most? And sorry for not replying to your comments a

She Inspires Many Canaries

Image
My song had lilt, she used to sit on window sill and smile. Mindlessly staring at me, holding her only child. Her kohl was smudged, she swallowed her pain. She walked freely around the house but her soul was chained. Past noon, she held her baby close to her chest. In those empty moments, she often wept. I sang happy rhymes, painted all that was grey. I told her many times, people do go far far away. I was a lost canary but she was more adrift than me. Pregnant and lost her husband when she was only twenty three. It saddened me, her sorrows didn't ebb. Her husband did die but she was dead. I abandoned her, she never came back from his pyre. Burning herself each day in that fire. But like a phoenix, she rose nevertheless. Churning sorrows into strength that she never expressed. She built an ebony closet, stacked all her pain in there. Armored with self-belief with no sorrow to share. No knight in shining armor, she stood by her own side.

Mr Right, Mrs Always Right And Both Doing Alright

Image
He loves me like a princess On most occasions I would say But if one fine evening I ask him to hold hands He blames me for public display His body is all mine All but his fine ears They won't budge on my melodious voice Seems like frozen from last five years Curiosity killed the cat And I was murdered for asking someone's name His stare pierced through my heart  When I asked him a question in the middle of his favorite game He buys me finest of jewels His love is all stacked up in my safe But a $10 scarf on sale is enough For an extempore on - We should save! It doesn't end with sports, money and food Even my opinion is absurd Mrs Roy was not being sarcastic I shouldn't form my views on what I saw or heard Please , don't blame him guys He himself is a prisoner for life Nearly misunderstood by a treacherous soul His nasty-nasty wife Between the two of us We are doing almost alright He is my Mr R
