The Zig-Zicas of Married Life

Do you know the best thing about a wedding? Love! No, gifts! But in our case, we didn’t get much. Neither a big check nor fancy teak furniture. And, forget about a car. All we got was wishes and ‘each-other’ to fill the empty house. But, we made sure that our grihasthi ki gaddi drove smoothly, without any hiccups. Sure, the road was bumpy - we took a few breaks, reached some milestones, we asked for direction but we survived throughout. Let’s have a sneak-peek at our post-wedding album -

FANTASTICO Moment -
One day I was struggling with one very difficult question - what to wear for a mall outing? I was rummaging through my wardrobe to find a perfect top. My husband was losing his patience. He gave me an ultimatum. We left for the mall, but my search ended with one top on display in my favorite store.  He didn’t let me buy the top. I was silent rest of the evening. When we were heading out of the mall, he told me to wait and came back with that top. I was elated. It was the most fantastic mall outing ever!

PEPPY Moves -
You know, what’s peppy, groovy and totally cool? When someone surprises you with a gift when you least expect it. It was our first anniversary and we celebrated it alone in Bangalore. I was missing our families. So, the next day he came home with tickets to Delhi. We went to Ambala and celebrated our anniversary again with our parents. Isn’t it totally rocking when you get a meaningful gift without even asking for it!

Little gestures, big IMPACT -
After two years of marriage, expectations and romance ebb, and then, a gesture here and there makes a huge impact. Like one day when I was really low and went to the bedroom in the middle of the movie. He came after a few minutes, didn’t say anything. He simply sat next to me and held my hand. And, on one rainy day when we fought and I was in the parking lot, he came with an umbrella. He was angry but took care of me. Small gestures make a big impact, I would say.

The MUSICAL Evening -
A couple of years back, I sprained my ankle. Sitting in my bedroom for nearly a week, I was bored to death. On the weekend, the weather was beautiful - perfect temperature and breezy. As I was looking helplessly through my window, he decided to take me out. With great difficulty we managed to climb down the steps. We went outside, sat on the bench and watched the sunset. I had my iPod and my husband as companions. It’s true - with love and music one can fix anything, especially a boring evening.

Smooth NAVIGATION -
We were at a friend’s house and were playing a game. All the husbands were asked to write how they feel about their wives. Guess what my husband wrote - You are a very nice person! I smiled and said a gentle ‘thank you.’ While coming back home, I fought with him. I demanded that he shower me with praises then and there. Instead of doing that, he did something utterly sweet and navigated to the soft corners of his heart - he left a note in the book I was reading.

In case you are tempted to have all these qualities in your marriage - well, that may be a bit difficult, but you can own something which comes loaded with all these features. It has fantastico performance, peppy looks, impactful engine, music ready and smooth navigation. Tata Zica - add this powerful machine to your grihasthi ki gaddi and sail through the zig-zicas of married life.

P. S. - I made these props myself to match the theme of each real life incident of our lives. Which one you like the most?

  16. Such a cute post, Saru ! It comes at a perfect time in my life :). I loved the little drawings :).
Personally, I neither like writing nor reading posts for a commercial product as they seem more like advertisements, but this one was brilliantly woven with artistic writing! Job, well done :)
