I had my first epiphany this February

February was life-changing. I had my first epiphany this month. In the first week of February, after hitting another low in life, I wanted to give up everything. But because I'm stubborn, I thought of giving it another try. I wrote what I wanted from life on a piece of paper. Then I did what I do best - I planned. I made a daily routine in which I included the activities to bring me closer to my goals. (By the way, my goals are to have peace of mind, attain happiness in things I have, and live a simple and meaningful life.) And most importantly, I made an effort to delete what was toxic or unnecessary. This is what I changed: I kicked off all the negative and bad influences - people, food, circumstances. I don't log into Facebook as I don't get positive vibes from it. I'm being picky with food and exercising portion control. शाम से तकिये पे है पड़ा, ये ठरकी मन बावरा! कमरे की रौशनी मद्धम करके, सांसों के उलझते शोर में, चादर की सिलवटे गिन रहा, ये ठरकी मन बावरा! उसे बोलो आए थोड़ी देर से, खाव्हिशो को होने दे ज़रा धुआं, लिपट के नाम से उसके बैठेगा तब तक, ये ठरकी मन बावरा! पिघलेगे दो जिस्म काली श्याही सी रात में, और सुलगते हुए जिस्मो की आग में, बूँद बूँद समेट लूंगी उसके प्यार को इस तरह, बस कल नाराज़ न हो मुझसे,

It's All About Hindi This January

I've made many changes in 2018. My resolutions are streamlined. I follow them to the T. I'm noticing positive changes in myself. January was purposelessly busy, though. A lot of pending tasks and catching up kept me occupied. I'll remember January 2018 for two reasons. First - two of the leading actors of Masaan interacted with me after I posted a couplet inspired by the movie on Instagram. And few of my couplets made way to a cafe in Dubai.

On writing front, I wrote the following in January -

I was confused which is the right word - sawari or sanwari. The word with 'n' sound is right. Well, so much to learn.

Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi read and commented on this couplet. It's special as this couplet is inspired by their story in the movie.

A home filled with love is never empty

A cozy king-size bed for you
An old cot for some
Turf of manicured lawn
Or a shanty in Mumbai's slum

A roof is all we need
Add a few luxuries here and there
Then how big is big enough?
Is squandering a meaningless affair?

Two can live happily in one room
No square feet, no price
Love to wrap yourself in it
Few adjustments and a little sacrifice

Changed nearly a dozen houses
But I treasure the moments we've shared so far
Not the flat screen TV we own
Or the spacious garage for our car

Often on lonely afternoons
The homemaker in me longs
For a tiny nook where I can recreate the good old days
Filled with friends and favorite songs

Though I labor to keep the house spick and span
But it's the mess that makes it complete
Remnants of an evening well spent
With friends, family and treats

A house is empty without happiness
Things only fill up space
An expensive couch can make the living room beautiful
But it can never brighten the gloomy days

We were 2 lovers, Who fought most of the times. I must write a crime novel for us, Certainly not a rhyme.
The frenzy in our bodies, The fire in our souls. Devil must have married Hell, We only fit these roles.
