...And we twist!

I was pretty charged up seeing Parineeti Chopra winning awards. We come from same town - Ambala. We lived just 7 kilometers apart. If she can do it, why can't I? But with five feet, yours truly, was in no mood to be next Rani Mukherjee. So, I worked on my strength. No! Not being fat, silly. Gippi flopped and we don't imitate flop ideas in Bollywood. I approached the coveted 4th Floor of Yash Raj clad in a burqa. Everybody thought I was Rani in disguise meeting Aditya Chopra and the entry was easy.

Now, Adi has a knack for spotting talent. He appreciated my (re)writing abilities but I must say, he was very honest, 'I appreciate your sense of humor Saru, but to be very honest, you are no good yourself. If you can join hands with some good script writers, I may consider you.' I nodded, 'Ok Sir, you see it's either Remake or Sequel season. I was thinking if you can remake Sholay and I could assist Javed Sir and Salim Sir. We can twist it and have a blockbuster for this uber-cool generation.100 crore toh pakke hai!'

'Sounds good, let me talk to the duo and get back to you.' I kept my fingers crossed and finally got the opportunity of a lifetime - an email confirmation from Yash Raj. I was told to brainstorm the idea with Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan, keeping Parineeti in loop as she was being considered for Basanti's role and Karan Johar aka the Robinhood of Bollywood would help us. Parineeti like a true brand ambassador insisted on using WeChat to communicate.

One week later after the formal introductions on WeChat…

Yeh haath mujhe dede thakur is Ok
but Thakur's nahin nahin sounds like
Gabbar is about to rape him

LOL, Saru, LOL! Let's re-write.
Let's keep an item song after that scene.
What twist you suggest Salim bhai?
Don't know about the twist
but your idea is good.
Extra money for song writing,
Sahi hai Javed Sahab

Aapka bhi toh fayada hai isme Salim bhai,
aap Malaika ko recommend kar de

Javed Sahab, remember
we agreed on a package deal.
Ek ke saath doosra, muft muft muft!

Leave it Javed Sahab,
Aditya is in a mood to bargain.
Let's proceed to next twist.

Let's do it Aditya Sir, please.
It will be my first item number!
Btw, who is my Hero in the film?

Parineeti, Dad ke jaane ka itna bhi
shock nahi laga hai ki tumse
item number karwau.

Never mind babes, cheer up!
Let's do parody - Saara shaher mujhe groin
ke naam se jaanta hai,
What say?

Salim Sahab,
You are not working with Rohit Shetty,
Language control please.

LOL, Salim Sir, if you won't mind
can I tweet it

via Salim Khan likh dena

If you are using it Saru,
create hashtag #SholayRemake
and make sure it trends.
If you are done with social networking
then can we please proceed.
Basanti in kutton ke samne mat nachna,
 what about this one?

Javed Sahab, Pitwana hai kya PETA se.
Kutton ke sentiments hurt hote hai.

Hahaha…Javed bhai,  Shabana
bhabhi will be first to protest

Add it with a respectable twist,
We will get extra support from PETA.

Karan please,
you concentrate on dress designing.

As you say but I was just helping.

I have an idea. Yeh Ramgadh walen apni ladkiyon ko
kaunse chakki ka aata khilate hai,
with this dialogue we can advertise products.

AttaGirl!

No Sir, I was talking about specific brands,
like shakti bhog, aashirvaad or annapurna.

Yeah, I know Saru.
I meant, 'AttaGirl' for the idea!

LOL, Adi stop behaving like Uday.
Only he can carry cool look in your family.

Cool nahin, woh Naamakool lagta hai

ROFL, Salim bhai!

Please concentrate on work

Salim Sir, Can I use this Uday Sir joke too?
And you have an amazing sense of humor.

Sure, Saru. Javed Sahab,
Saru kitni pyari baatein karti hai…

Salim Sahab,
pyari nahin bahut sari baatein karti hai…

I don't think this discussion is going anywhere.
So, achha to hum chalte hain…

Me too, I have to sketch some costumes.
Yeah, see ya all tomorrow,
have to catch up with Rani. Sorry typo,
I meant Rain, mumbai rain.
Feel like going for a walk in this beautiful weather
Salim bhai,
let's have drinks together at my place
and discuss a new script.
Let's work together once again.

Will be there at 8.

What about me???

With this my only chance to make it to Bollywood dimmed. But with a never die attitude I pinged Aditya Sir after few days.

Hello Sir, Is the project still on?

Hi, I 'm sorry, no! But keep writing.
Leave this remake idea and think original.
Remember, Idea wohi hit hota hai, jo hatke ho!

Hmmm…Jaise???

Like - Vicky Donor…Like - Kahaani…Like WeChat.
Do something which you have never done before.

Arey, why have you started singing?

You said, try something different.
I'm voice-chatting. Btw, what do you think of my voice?
I can playback for free...

WeChat, App, Words, Contest

I think I did enough twisting…from twisting the movie script to twisting my profession. However, learned the biggest creative lesson - Think Out of Box; as Aditya Sir said, 'Idea wohi hit hota hai, jo hatke ho!' And, if you are all bored with texting, BBMing and tweeting on your sleek gadgets; try WeChat - the hatke and hit way to connect for our uber-cool generation.
