More Goodness For You!

Dear Skin,

First, let me thank you for being so radiant in my teenage, with no pimples or acnes. You also outlived my expectations for lasting beyond those wonder years of early 20s. Yes, I still get many compliments courtesy you. Barring the accident I had when I was 19, you never troubled me. Sorry for those scars but hope you remember how I took extra care and pampered you with coconut oil.

Though, I must admit, initially I was not very keen on using coconut oil but my mother convinced me to try it. Living up to the expectations, the oil worked marvelously and lightened the scars. You know I have a craze for body lotions and I thought oil would darken my skin color. Seriously, I knew so little about this wonder nut. Since then you guys have gelled together so beautifully that taking a cue from your bonding, I introduced coconut oil to 'Hair' as well. Looks like even Hair likes him.

However, I've observed that you seem to enjoy each other more in wintersWhenever I apply coconut oil on you, your relationship blossoms happily on my soft cheeks, patching away the dry skin and adding glow to my face. Yesterday I read this quote by Dustin Hoffman, 'The two basic terms necessary to sustain life are sunshine and coconut milk.' Can't agree more with him this winter. You must be wondering why I'm essaying your relationship. Well, things are about to change, for better, of course. Your good old companion is having a makeover. From now onwards, he'll be more stylish and cool. I know, I know, you're blushing. Check out his new profile picture on Facebook.

With this stylish new avatar, I can carry him wherever I go and you guys can spend more time together. Even I'm looking forward to that. After all, you both help me in looking young. Ending the letter with a couplet I've written for you,

"Dressed in the utterly dose of coconut milk,
You rekindle love, you look like silk."

Looking forward to receive more compliments on your behalf,
Saru

P.S. Find enclosed video, love can surely happen dobara

  16. All through my childhood I used coconut oil both as body lotion and hair oil and loved it. Move to Delhi changed it forever. My hair did not like coconut oil mixed with those dirty particles and particulates (those days air pollution was at extreme in Delhi). Hope someday I get back to it :) Nice reminder of its goodness.

  25. Hi Saru,

Coconut has been known since many years to be a good strengthening agent for the hairs. Parachute are doing a good job at using this concept to base their product on.

What a lovely letter written here, extolling the new and improved outlook of Parachute. I'm sure they'll both like each other. :) :) :)

Wish you luck for the contest :)

    Regards

Being Human

Under the roof of winter, Latches of my door open without making a sound. It's cold out there, Someone lost his ground. My soul shivers, Not that I'm cold. Someone from my land, Sleeps under the bridge while dreaming of gold. How can I... tuck myself in the quilt? When the winter storm is blowing, Hopes they have built. I have to get up, Do something... Before I start questioning who am I? And, they start saying...'Humanity dies.' Let's work out something, Take a resolution. Walk across all kinds of bridges, And, just be human... From centuries people are migrating for work or for better opportunities. But, not everyone has a smooth sailing...some live under miserable conditions. Most heart wrenching fact is nobody helps them, not even people from their own countries. I know, everybody is busy chasing the bigger purpose of life. But don't you think we should help people in need? Let's try to be better human being...

I Am Not Alone

Last year blessed me, He walked silently into my life. It was Love, That took me in its stride. One evening we walked holding hands, Then, I told him what I felt in heart. He said we were one soul, Who were living in parts. To bring the parts together, We fought with the world and tied the knot. Being one soul, Gave life a whole new spot. Chirping birds, floating clouds, Nature conspired for us. Always swimming against the tide, Life was in an adrenaline rush. This year cursed me, He walked silently out of my life. It was Death, That took him in its stride.       Yesterday his soul was saying, Fearing memories will fade, he can’t move on. He will stay and admire me, Standing always by my side from dusk to dawn. Wailing Woes

On her frail shoulders, the threads of Pashmina talk. Of a valley, of heaven, of a moonlit night. Demure, she froze amidst the discordant noise, Charred bodies around her, her flesh and blood died. On moonlit nights, hence she walks barefoot on the snow, Suffering within and out, I can listen, what her silence speaks out loud. Deranged, Demented, She drags her body around, Unaware, Listless, what she has lost can never be found. I call her, whenever she passes by me, I have been piling up sorrows as debris. Come! My child Let me hear your pain, Let me soothe your wounds, Let me jostle your soul, So you shed a tear. I know your pain, I have done all this myself, And I have been there. This poem narrates the sufferings of women who lost their families in Kashmir Valley. *Disclaimer - Title is inspired by  Sonnet 30  of Shakespeare.
