There, I said it!

Ample space in my closet
Still feel like a bird in cage
Oceans dried up - empty and barren
My closet is just that space

If you have come this far,
And made sense of first four lines.
I salute your creative genius,
And your intelligence just blew my mind.

Neither I can understand such depth,
Nor I read any such piece.
Even Shakespeare's skeleton shakes up,
Hearing these weird writing techniques.

If a leaf falls from the tree,
Let the poor soul be at rest.
By mixing tea cup and grave,
What are you trying to suggest?

Rhyme-meter-syllable-style,
I can still manage to care.
But what the hell is a cobweb doing?
In a poem on love affair.

I understand your in-depth analysis,
The profound thought, a different point of view.
But world is too simple,
Too stupid to understand a genius like you.

Four outdated words - unrhymed,
Use thesaurus on just a few.
Switch between unrelated subjects,
There - a poem too profound to construe.

Superb, outstanding, brilliant,
Such lauds will obviously flow.
As most of your readers are marveling,
At your ability to write 100 lines on homeless crow.

I don't claim to be a poet,
It's too heavy a term for me.
I write simple rhymes,
In which two plus one is generally three.

  3. * wonders if this Gayle is targeting me * O:-)

that aside, I agree. some poems are just too deep to make sense of what the writer is trying to say. I do write such pieces at times, though I don't think there is that much depth that'll flummox and confund you :)

    1. No, whatever I have read from you is good and easy to comprehend. But, there are many whom I can't understand and my problem is they say harsh things about others' work. If you are an artist, you ought to be humble, receptive and try to appreciate others.

    1. Even I love to read that kind of poetry. As far as I am concerned, I have a simple rule - easy writing for blog and if it's for literary purpose, I write intense.

Glad that you like my poems. Thanks Rachna. :)

    1. Ah, that's extremely sweet of you Roohi. Simple or intense, write what you feel. Expression is secondary to feelings.

Began again and successfully stumbled through. :)

You know? I found it very smoothly flowing like languid waves in a lazy ocean. And, yes. You are a great poet. I vouch for that! :)
