Adios, Split Ends!

A beautiful end is something we all look for. And when it comes to our tresses, it becomes a daunting task to achieve. Yes, I am talking about smooth and shiny tresses minus split ends. With pollution and stressful life, nearly all us girls have unhealthy-unmanageable hair. My biggest problem is frizzy hair with loads of split ends. Few years back my hair was of average length but whenever I looked at my split ends, I chopped them. It sure sounds an easy way to get rid of those rough edges. Well, as a result, my hair, as you can see, is now shoulder length.

I keep on changing my shampoo and when Indiblogger sent TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner, I gave it a shot. By the way, It came in a suave black carry bag, which I totally loved. I tried it next day. I oil my hair before washing and for any first time user, these things totally worked for me -

  • Packaging, I love the fact that shampoo and conditioner bottle are of different colors. If both are of same color, sometimes, I end up applying conditioner first and wonder, why it's not forming lather. Silly me!
  • Texture of the shampoo and conditioner is good.
  • Fragrance of the shampoo and conditioner are mild, I personally don't like too strong fragrances. This one lingered for an hour and went away.
  • With the first application of shampoo, I had no trace of oil left in my hair. With some shampoos, I have to wash my hair 2 or 3 times before the oil completely goes away.
So, as far as the washing experience was concerned, I felt good after using it. By that time, I was not that much concerned about split ends. Well, how often things work in one go! It was end of March and summer was knocking in North India. What really impressed me - After 3 days of wash my hair was not sticky or oily. It was the best result any shampoo could give to girls like me, who have oily glands in their scalp. And for this, I give the credit to the conditioner, rather than shampoo. Normally, conditioner smoothens your hair at the cost of bringing the oily look back within 2 days.

Need not say, I loved the product and I Goggled it. I found out that TRESemme Split Remedy has innovative Reconstructing Complex which binds split ends and fixes them as they occur. It can reduce split ends by 96% within three washes. It sounded like a tall claim and I went ahead to find more about 'Reconstructing Complex', which by the way is Trademarked.

As they say, our split ends or simply, hair ends are negatively charged. Yes, yes, that's why some of us get that unmanagable hair, specially during dry weather. Reconstructing Complex is nothing but positively charged polymers inside a gel body which works on the simple principle - Opposite Attracts! So, now I was convinced with the logic, I continued using it. I even used it without applying oil before and it doesn't leave hair dry. Your hair feel smooth and are easy to manage, unlike with some other shampoos, where I have to necessarily apply oil before wash.

But the big test was - reduction of split ends. As far as my personal experience goes, it does work. My hair is smooth, soft and less frizzy. I think, I am gonna stick to it. And hopefully can grow my hair again without the fear of split ends. So, here's my hair for you.

I got a hair cut in March and I am growing it since. It's been close to 2.5 months and my hair is smooth, unlike earlier when by this time, I used to have visible split ends. Not only the split ends, my hair feels silky smooth and doesn't curl up. They remain neat, straight and manageable for 3-4 days. With no split ends, I am looking forward to grow them again.

Signing off with something I would say with my long smooth tresses  -

Musical, like the strings of guitar
Tied-Untied I look million stars
My playful tresses dazzle the show
Like... Madonna, Madhu Bala, Marilyn Monroe

Adios to split ends and Cheers to the beautiful tresses with TRESemme!
