The Last Letter

On moonlit night, I sigh!
Of incessant love, you may say.
Beholding the hopes high,
Our paths would cross one day.
Sinking alone in mellow light,
I read his last letter.
Wonder, what could I write?
What words would be better?
Indigo days, sober nights,
Of fallen petals and love.
Or shall I not write,
Not make our parting tough.

Sitting alone, searching for my broken star.
Wish, I wish, time would heal these scars.

    Or shall I not write,
Not make our parting tough. - This made it even sad!

This is like each phrase speaks a thousand words, Saru! You brought out the melancholy just perfectly.

Pain is forgotten when your mind is occupied. When one is immersed in work or hobby or anything which ensures that the person is focused, the pains of the past is completely forgotten.

  52. Saru.. I am in awe of the emotional power your words wield on the reader. For a moment, you transcend the reader into the realm of the underlying emotion. I was transfixed in the silence and the angst of your poem and gripped by the intensity, yet sublime subtlety and the tranquil beauty of your words. It took me a while to recover and that too reluctantly! Fascinating piece yet again! :)

our instinct is to bury the pain deep down in our hearts. but when it crops up- life ceases to treat you nicely.

    Or shall I not write,

You left me without a breath or goodbye,
you never even gave it a try,
