Discussion on Blogging on ITV Gold

I had the privilege of being invited for a discussion on blogging by Mr Ashok Vyas (Program Director, ITV Gold) with Mr Rakesh Kumar. We discussed various aspects of blogging and it was an enriching experience. Mr Ashok Vyas is an accomplished poet, read his work here. And Mr Rakesh Kumar writes on spiritual topics on his blog. It was an honor meeting both of them.

  4. Well Spoken. I loved the way you recited your poem. :)

I don't think people who read directly from READERS or Dashboard or RSS will be shown in the stats. Not all will comment at all times. :) You should appreciate the silent readers too. :D

  6. Saru, A very nice interview, really admire your opinions and thought process on various issues related to blogging. I felt very happy to see you and listen to your voice for the very first time. In-spite of going through a personal tragedy at the time of the interview, you held yourself together very well. And I was so thrilled when you recited "Tharki" in your own voice, just made my day. And I hope that I am one of your genuine readers and not just a follower. Its been a privilege to read your poems and get to know about your blogging experience in your own voice. You are a great ambassador to Indian bloggers all over the world. Keep up the great work. :)

  11. Such an enlightening discussion, Saru. Though am not well versed in Hindu, I could understand everything you said, because it was simple worded and well articulated.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, when you said-"I want readers, not followers", "The number of followers don't count, but the comments and feedback do" and when you told us that "Readers are my ultimate motivation".

These statements bear testimony to your deep passion for blogging. I really feel proud to have known you, Saru! Keep the magic alive in your blog!:)

  51. Congratulations, I watched the complete video and got to know alot. As a blogger, a young blogger actually, I write articles but the readers are less and sometimes it makes any writer like me to go towards the rat race instead of concentrating on what I am writing. Rankings, Awards, Subscribers, a blogger sometimes runs after these as he/she needs readers.

But, the thing is, I would like to add to what you said in the interview, you can write for the readers but you cannot make readers for reading what you write. Nice interview and it is good to see that there are still people who believe in writing for readers. :)

    1. Initially everyone feels like that but I was asked of how I feel now. And to gain readers you have to be a reader first. We can't expect anyone to read us as we are not celebrities. You have to network, read people whom you like and eventually who will gain audience. Also blogging is more about connecting with readers. You have to work really hard on content, quality and networking.

Also I hope you get as many readers as you want Deepansh:)
